I’m really excited for this, it’s within the same cerebral style of Roman Coppola’s CQ, which means it’ll be very offbeat, the film centers around an English sound engineer who’s tasked with fixing the audio for an Italian horror film and ends up in some odd situations whilst working on the picture.
I’m about to leave. I ask him to take me home. […] The road home isn’t very long, and I know I’ll be getting off soon. But at this moment, I’m feeling such lovely warmth.
So, Thomas Jane from 2004’s Punisher, went and made a fan short that’s actually damn good. I always felt his portrayal of Frank Castle was the best cinematic itineration of the character and that they should’ve kept him as Frank instead of making that zombie abomination War Zone. If you haven’t seen the original, I recommend it, it’s a solid genre action film and the acting and camerawork’s pretty great.
Curious to see what Korean cinema has to offer, I’ve seen a few films from there over the years but most of my Asian movie knowledge falls under Japan/ China’s works. China tends to do spectacle more often than not now, but the early 90s period of action films are brilliant. While Japan tends to be more artsy and philosophical with their movies, but when violence is done, it’s efficiently brutal and as gory as possible.
