Bearded Ninjas

If I do go to graduate school, I’d like to either do design or Illustration or a mixture of both if possible. Photography is my second love next to film but it’s too similar for me and I’d really like to do something new and challenging.

So, I just back from seeing the Dark Knight Rises and I honestly found it to be more enjoyable story wise than Dark Knight, I know everybody goes “oh but The Joker..” It’s like ESB or Return (Revenge) of the Jedi, some people like ESB more, myself included and others like Return more.

Regardless, I found it to have one of the better endings to a film I’ve seen this year. Some of the cuts are a little awkward and Bane’s voice sounded a lot more menacing before they went and remixed his lines but besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed the final conclusion to Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

Started playing Dragon Age II this weekend, and it’s a gem of a game, I have some issues with the combat, but it’s probably got the most enjoyable plot in a game I’ve played this year, I was broke when it originally came out so getting to finish parts I and II excluding DLC was great. If there was a way to cross sync my Steam save of Age one and carry over my playthrough that’d be great but what I’ve noticed is that the first game’s story doesn’t really have a huge impact on Hawke’s.

People always act so surprised when I tell them I was home schooled, for fuck’s sake we moved from New York to New Jersey, the first year my mother placed me in school I got beat up by the other black kids for having a Gameboy. If in some parallel universe I ever have children, you can be damn sure I will never send them to public school in this country.

It’s not the curriculum that’s even bad in some districts, it’s combination of parents and teachers who idly sit by and let kids get away with bullying others, making life hell for whoever they don’t like. Then members of the community act all shocked when these kids flip out and harm themselves or kill people, what type of child takes constant abuse and doesn’t eventually project their anger in the worst ways possible?

So yes, I’m proud, the first few years (up until 5th grade) my mom made it a point to send me to camp and home school me and make learning fun, because no kid should feel like being around others is Vietnam circa ‘65 and a learning environment should be enjoyable and conductive to knowledge and creativity, not creating dribbling drones or kids loaded with neuroses and Ritalin.

It’s great how Facebook went from being a place to connect with others to being a site where you have to actively avoid people you no longer wish to speak to. But then again that’s what real life is like sometimes isn’t it?
